I know that I just posted five min. ago, but Ryan just showed me where our most recent pictures of Molly were, so ....

Oksie doksie folksies. I have not a much to say. Mostly, sorry to all of you who have been doing giveaways on your blogs. I have not felt so inclined to participate. What a party pooper I is. I want lovely gifts from you all, but I'm feeling lazy to make anything. Paaaa-thet-ic. Umm, you want to know something stupid I did? Well I signed myself up to teach others how to make bread. Now I'm realizing that I don't really know how to myself. Hmmmm.....special. Megan, do you want to teach me how to hand knead the ol' bread so that I can get to teaching some fabulous relief society ladies? Or my Mom, but she doesn't read my blog, sos I have to call her up about it. Done and done, or at least it will be, because it must be. I have to hand wash our dishes because our dishwasher is broken. I will cry you a river. Actually, I don't really mind just as long as Molly is not crying while I'm trying to do them dishes. One thing I have been enjoying today is when Ryan busts out in song. My personal favorite is "Jamaica, we have a bobsled team. We have the one Dorice and the one Junior." Anyway, as you can tell there's really not much to tell, so have a good one or something.

So, my little nugget of love (Molly) is almost 9 months old. She has recently just taken off with crawling. She has actually known how for a while now, but I don't think she grasped the delights of sweet freedom it would allow and wasn't interested. It was so cute when she found out though, because she would go around squeeling with joy. It was really almost like she was saying "this is so dang cool and I don't care who knows it!" Another cute thing is how much she likes to be near Katie. She likes to hold her hand and give her snuggles and, if I'd let her, pull her hair. She likes to put her face right up (and I'm talking touching noses) and just look at her. And sometimes when Katie "talks" Molly will "talk" back. Sweetheart of a girl.
What about me and or Ryan? Who cares about us, but let me bore you with some random whatevers.
  • I'm in love with marinated grilled chicken on the foreman
  • Ryan really enjoys his internship, and sometimes gets excited about food too
  • Molly really likes yogurt and pumpkin pie and old crusty leaves people drag in on their shoes, as well as paper
  • I would like to enjoy a good book or movie, but maybe after I get some real good sleeps in
  • I like to look like an idiot and work out to DVD's in the privacy of my own home, oh if you could only see me try and hip-hop-get-on-my-groove-thing with Denise Austin you'd either want to hide in embarrassment or laugh, maybe join in, or a combination of all three
  • ummm...we put a nightlite in Molly's room
  • we're building up our food storage
  • i like piniatas
  • and my favorite color is tan
  • and I probably like you

Yayhoooo!

So I just pressed enter on accident and published my post, which consisted soley of the title yaygoo, or yayhoo rather. Haha, yaygoo. Anyway, what is so happy is the fact that Ryan has got himself an internship. It is unpaid, but right here in Provo. He will be able to do that part time and still work doing meter reading, so it's working out nicely. Also, it sounds like he will be getting good experience, despite what we had heard, so he's pretty excited and relieved as you can imagine. So thanks for the prayers and such!

yayhooo!

well now that's too bad

Ryan didn't get it and we are pretty bummed. He's going to try and find a volunteer internship, because it doesn't look like anywhere is hiring. He needs to find something soon so he can graduate. From what we hear, Provo already doesn't have enough work to keep the planners they have busy, and a lot of cities are cutting back or have hiring freezes because of the bad economy. So anyway, Ryan doesn't really want to volunteer at Provo, because he feels he won't really learn anything valuable, that is if they would even take him. So who knows. We are keeping confidant that the right thing will turn up, but if not, it will all work out somehow :).

the silence is deafening or the noise is, what?

Still waiting to hear anything. They took the position off their website, so someone has the job I'm thinking. Maybe it could still be Ryan? Monday is a holiday so hopefully we'll know by Tuesday? We just want to know, even if it's a no-go, so we can get on with things max!

Howdy doody

Christmas fun. Doesn't she look so happy about her new toy santa brought her?
Yay paper!

My mom's a crazo weirdy

So here's what's up
Ryan felt that his interview went well. He said there were six total interviewees. He recognized three of them from his classes. We'll know by the end of the week if he got it or not, or they said they may do a second interview, so we will see. He thinks his chances are pretty good because he knows that a lot of the others still had a class or two that they'd have to work around, and he is all done with classes, so that's good. As he was leaving, they brought up the fact that he lived in Provo and how that was a long commute and also about if they would have to do anything for his internship. He told them that if he got the job we would be moving closer and that for his internship they would have to write a review of what he did for them and how they think he performed, that sort of thing, so there's nothing really to worry about. So I'm thinking if those were their only concerns it's looking pretty good, don't you think? Anyway, now it's just waiting to hear back. I'm actually pretty excited for the change, and the idea of looking for an apartment. It will be my first time out of my parent's or in-laws home and the first time paying rent, if you can believe it. I mean, our apartment now has felt like our home more than our in-laws basement. They have been really good about that. And I'm not looking forward to paying rent and realizing just how poor we are, but it's still kind of exciting, you know what I mean even though I can't explain with my words because I'm pretty much special so there you have it folks. Anyway, I'm sounding as though it's a sure thing, and it's not, so here's hoping though!

something is in the air

And it is change. Or it could just be the dirty diapers in the trash receptacle. Hmm..But anyway, Ryan does have an interview today in Morgan. So wish him luck because it is the closest place he's found thus far and I want to stay as close to family as we can. I don't like all the waiting and wondering. First to see if he got a call back for an interview and now to see if he gets the job. So GOOD LUCK TO RYAN!!!

do not read if you are offended by flatulent talk

Oh man, Ryan called me with a doozy of a story last night. Really, brings tears of joy to my eyes. So the kid, as in Ryan, was walking down the stairs of the U library when his stomach started to hurt because of a gas issue. He decided to try out the let it out slow and hope for the silent kind, but instead it busted out with a bang and then piddled out slowly. Seriously stopped him dead in his tracks with a stunned look upon his face. (he said it was very populated) He slowly looked around to notice people looking and laughing and then, get this, he took off running! Ha! Which is maybe the funniest part to me. Stopped dead and then took off. Hilarious!! I know, I am so immature and inappropriate to share this on my blog, but I know many of you will appreciate my potty humour. So here's to a little gas and a good laugh! Ryan said he was just trying to go out with a bang :0.

Molly, what else?

So, here is more Molly. Because I am computer stupid, I just uploaded random pictures not really knowing which ones they were, but I figured I couldn't really go wrong considering the subject matter. Admitted, the one with me in it is a little scary, but I will leave it be anyway because Molly is sporting her glasses she got from Erin and Mandy. Hmm ... maybe I should include something about what all's goin' on round here. Ryan is on the home stretch of school which is wonderful and yicky. You know, all those dang end-of-semester group projects with some not so great groups this time around. Poor guy. Then it's applying for internships and we will be going wherever that may take us. It's just same old for me. Working part time caring for Katie and being Molly's mom. Molly is dang cute, as you can see. She loves splashing in the tub, eating solids, and not taking naps. Although, yesterday she took a solid 2 hour nap. Way to go Molls!! Okay, so hope all is well with you and yours! Have a good un' or something!

ode

Ode to my Ryan

I was just folding up the laundry in my haphazard way and then stuffing them into the drawers and was just reminded about how lucky I am to be married to Ryan. He never once has criticized me on the way I do things or complained about my rarely made box, frozen or canned dinners or the fact that my belly has started to expand rather than shrink back since having Molly (not to mention my hips or thighs). No no, instead he is always telling me he loves me and that I'm doing such a great job and how pretty he thinks I am. He's always trying to get me to take breaks and have a nap. For my birthday he wants to tear me away from Molly to take me to a play. Also, he made me the cutest homemade card with coupons that you ever did see. One was that I could ask for a house as long as it was on April first ;). He also got me some beautiful roses and book. He's just so great. So thank you Ryan, your my main squeeze and I love you mucho!

By the by. Thank you to all that wished me a happy birthday (I got all your messages) so thanks it means so much and junk. Okay got to go Molly is in meltdown mode.

confession

Hi, my name is Melanie, and I have a problem.
Yes, sign me up for the 12 step program, because yes, I can admit it now, I am an addict.
I am hopelessly addicted to sugar. I read somewhere that sugar was found to be more addictive than cocaine (at least to rats). Anyway, I need to find me a program to get me off this stuff. Today I am having withdrawals (despite my brownie with my sugar cereal for breakfast). Man I could really use some candy right now!

heylow eveberbody.

Here is my most beautiful girl. I have some others where her eyes are huge and startled but I'm too lazy to try and find them right now. The flash on the camera has made for some most amusing photos.
Anyway,
I have this political add from the Catholicvote.com that, while maybe a bit on the dramatic side, I like the message of. I want to stand up for God's values, because when it comes down to it, that is what is most important. If you are interested, here is the link to the video http://www.catholicvote.com/ I'm not trying to endorse one candidate over another, because I don't really like either of them, just something to think about is all.
Also I wanted to share my most favorite choc. chip cookie recpie to date. It is from Jill Pilling (a lady in my ward).
Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. margarine or butter, softened
1/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 pkg. instant vanilla jello pudding (the large box size or you can use chocolate for chocolatey cookies)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 pkg. chocolate chips (I have never used a whole bag of chips with any cookies)
Mix flour and baking soda; set aside. Combine butter, sugar, pudding, and vanilla; beat until smooth. Add eggs and beat gradually; add flour mixture. Lastly, add chocolate chips. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
they stay soft, which is why I like them so much.
Have a good one or something!

Happy birfday Erin!!!

Happy Birthday Erin dear! Happy days will come to you all year!!!
I am remembering happy Erin memories:

going to your birthday party with Tye which is where it all started
lion king lip sync at my b-day party
choking on root beer
flying through the park (no drugs involved)
Sams shakes
riding around in your car that had a cool name, but I can't remember, was it chiki-monkey or something?
garbage locker in B wing
roller chairs and apple core in computer class
slobber gummy bears on buses
and all those running around BYU campus things
Beatles and whatnot
I first discovered Jane Eyre through you (book and play)
sleepovers
remember that one time where Tye and I suprized you on your birthday and we were hiding in your closet? that was fun
my first and only so far experience of Disneyland
pirates booty-Thar be good!
dandilions in a vase (picture me singing this way off tune or really sharp)
international cinema
trick-or-treating (remember that one time I tried to be an 80's chick and later I realized I just ended up looking kind of sleazy, but your mom didn't realize it was my costume and said I looked really pretty)
India Fest
Bombay House (it has become a birthday tradition)
singing the alphabet like a bunch of drunks to bushes
chemistry class
remember how you took mechanics? that makes me happy
scary movie night where we made ourselves too scared to pee without someone singing hymns by the bathroom door
and so much more!!

I had fun following you around like your shadow, so thanks for always taking me along for the ride! You introduced me to a lot of my still favorite things. Thanks yo!

Hope your day is a fun one! Love you!

nostrils

Just wanted to say that one thing that brings my heart joy is when Ryan flares them nostrils. It is very humorous. You should ask him to demonstrate it some time. What I should do is take a picture and post it, but it can't be done right now. SO sorry to disappoint. Guess you're just going to have to stop by some Friday afternoon for the real deal.
I also wanted to thank those who came to my ghetto mary kay adventure party. I'm not a very adept hostess I am afraid. I always feel I need to apologize to people for perhaps making them feel uncomfortable because of my awkwardness. Sometimes I like to pretend that it is my endearing trait rather than my annoying one ;). Anyway, I like to see you all and spend time with you.
Okay, so see ya later or something.

Have a good one

Molly went down for a nap (hurray!) so I thought maybe I could update the ol' blog. Problem is I don't gots nada to say. Hmmmm...Pretty much nothing. I get to go to Katie's in an hour. This is a stressful thing because I'm a little special, so I don't know how the heck to take care of both the girls. I don't know how people have more than one child, let alone multiples. Molly spends most of her awake time crying these days, and seeing as she only really takes one nap, it's like all day. Good thing Art is gone most of the time, because when he does come home, and low and behold the child is in tears and fits, he asks some kind of question like, "is she hungry?" Makes me feel like I don't have a clue or something (true as it may be). What am I doing wrong? I don't feel as though I'm doing much right. Poor child. She'll grow up non-the-less I am told. Hopefully, she'll be stronger for it; that is, for having her particular mother.
She is dang cute, I have to say, and when she smiles I could just eat her up, so she is happy sometimes. Anyway, it's all good. I'm not trying to sound all negative. Just feeling a little whellmed right now, and it is something to write, right? Anyway, she probably doesn't cry as much as I'm making it out to be. It just feels like all day sometimes.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing wonderfully well!! Have a good one or something.
